New York, NY: In a new show of solidarity, Tamils in the U.S. have launched a “Tamils for Harris” bumper sticker campaign to support Kamala Harris’s bid for the U.S. presidency.

The initiative reflects their belief that Harris, like other prominent women leaders, will advocate for Tamil sovereignty and justice. The bumper stickers highlight the ongoing genocide faced by the Tamil people in Sri Lanka.

By invoking the legacies of leaders such as Indira Gandhi, Hillary Clinton, and Jayalalithaa, the campaign underlines the historical connection between women leaders and the Tamil struggle.

Tamils are hopeful that Harris will not only examine but also address the mass killings that took place in Sri Lanka in 2009.

Supporters are confident in Harris's ability to provide a permanent solution for the Tamil people’s protection.

The campaign features a call to action, offering U.S. residents the opportunity to receive a bumper sticker by contacting the organization.

This grassroots effort is aimed at building awareness of Tamil rights and encouraging Harris to prioritize their cause in her presidential platform.

One spokesperson said, “We believe Kamala Harris has the strength and compassion to address the Tamil genocide in a meaningful way, ensuring our people’s safety and sovereignty for future generations.”

The Tamils for Harris movement signifies more than just political support; it reflects the broader hope that Harris will stand as a champion for justice and accountability, much like the women leaders who supported Tamil struggles in the past.
