Mayor Adams praised Indian American physicians for their contributions, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“You were present in hospitals and emergency rooms, sacrificing your own health for the country's wellbeing. Your contributions are rare and invaluable,” he stated, recalling his visit to India and Gandhi’s memorial. Adams emphasized the shared responsibility of living out Gandhi’s dreams in their respective fields.
Sri Brahmrishi SiddhGuru Gurudev bestowed blessings on the organizers and delegates, commending the physicians for their virtues of “learning, earning, and returning.” His message highlighted the global impact of their dedication and excellence.
Dr. Achintya Moulik, Chair of AAPI Convention 2024, welcomed attendees, expressing excitement for the year’s convention. Dr. Sumul Raval, Secretary of AAPI, highlighted the diverse activities planned, ranging from research sessions to entertainment events, including performances by Atul Purohit, Kapil Sharma, Javed Ali, and Atif Aslam, alongside traditional Garba and a Bollywood Film Festival.
AAPI Vice President Amit Chakrabarty noted the evolution of AAPI’s mission over its 42-year history, now representing over 120,000 Indian American physicians and 130 local chapters. President Dr. Anjana Samadder welcomed delegates, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to unity, public service, and family values.
The inaugural World Health Congress by AAPI is a testament to the significant contributions of Indian American physicians in the US and their role in advancing healthcare through innovation. This event not only celebrates their achievements but also sets the stage for future collaborations and advancements in medical science.
