Deepthi and her friend Snigdha were walking home when a speeding, unidentified vehicle struck them and fled the scene. Deepthi suffered severe head injuries and passed away on April 15, while Snigdha sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment.
Deepthi's family, who had sold part of their land to support her education, is devastated by the loss. She had recently invited her parents to attend her graduation ceremony. Her body is expected to arrive in Guntur by Saturday.
