Dallas, Tx—On June 14, 2024, the India Association of North Texas (IANT) and Vibha Dallas, an Indian American youth organization, hosted an AI workshop for senior citizens at the Shubham Event Center.

Sponsored by McDonald’s, the event showcased SweetConnections.ai, an AI-powered website that translates personal video messages into 31 languages using advanced voice cloning and lip-syncing technology.

During the workshop, seniors recorded messages for their grandchildren, witnessing the AI tool translate their words into fluent English. Youth volunteers also participated, translating their messages into Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, and Tamil for their grandparents.

Sushma Malhotra, President of IANT, expressed her excitement, emphasizing the significance of this technology in connecting with her English-speaking grandson. Archana Turaga, Executive Director of Vibha Dallas, highlighted the event’s role in fostering intergenerational communication through AI.

IANT, a nonprofit organization, has been serving the community for over 62 years, promoting cultural connection and a sense of belonging among Indian Americans in North Texas.
