Collision in Texas Claims Five Lives, Three from Andhra Pradesh

Fannin County, Texas, USA: Five Indian nationals, including three from Andhra Pradesh, tragically lost their lives in a fatal car crash on Monday evening near Randolph, Texas. 

 

A sixth passenger, critically injured, was airlifted to a hospital. The collision occurred when one car attempted to pass traffic in a no-passing zone, resulting in a head-on crash between two vehicles, which ignited upon impact.

 

Key Facts:

  • The crash occurred around 5:55 PM on State Highway 121.

 

  • Three victims, including software engineers, were from Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh.

 

  • One passenger, Sai Chennu, remains in critical condition.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) confirmed that the accident took place when a car attempted a dangerous maneuver, leading to the tragic collision. 

 

Telugu communities in the U.S. have expressed their grief and called for a detailed investigation into the incident. 

 

The victims, Rajini Shiva, and Haritha, were known to be recent residents of the U.S., working in the software industry.

 

Haritha had recently moved to the U.S. after her marriage and was preparing to start a new job.

 

Her husband, Sai, critically injured in the crash, is fighting for his life in the hospital. 

 

Their families, shattered by the sudden loss, had spoken with their loved ones just the night before.

 


"We can't believe they are gone...they spoke with smiles just hours before," lamented the grieving parents of Haritha.

 

The devastating accident in Texas serves as a grim reminder of road safety’s importance. As families mourn the loss of their loved ones, the Telugu community in the U.S. is pushing for a thorough investigation. 

 

The accident not only claimed lives but deeply impacted both the local and international Telugu communities.

 

Local officials are urging the community to prioritize caution, especially in no-passing zones, to prevent further such incidents.​
