TLCA Opens First-Ever Telugu Cultural Center in the U.S.

New York— In a historic moment for the Indian American community, the Telugu Literary and Cultural Association (TLCA) inaugurated the Telugu Bhavanam on May 4, 2025. Located in New York, this center stands as the first of its kind in the United States, dedicated to preserving and promoting Telugu culture and heritage.

The Telugu Bhavanam aims to serve as a hub for cultural activities, language preservation, and community gatherings. It reflects TLCA's commitment to nurturing Telugu traditions among the diaspora.

TLCA President Kiran Parvathala emphasized the center's role in fostering cultural pride and unity within the community.

"This center will be more than just a structure; it will be a symbol of our cultural pride," he stated. 

The inauguration was marked by traditional performances, including classical dances and music, showcasing the rich Telugu heritage. Community members expressed enthusiasm about having a dedicated space to celebrate their culture.
