Chicago, IL: The American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) has relaunched its “Share-the-Warmth” program to help homeless and needy individuals across the U.S.

This annual initiative, started in 2019, provides blankets to shelters nationwide during the winter season.

Key Facts:

  • AAPI’s blanket drive has supported thousands since its launch, with this year’s efforts continuing the tradition.

  • Local chapters are working with volunteers to collect and distribute blankets to those in need.

  • Jersey City Mayor Steven M. Fulop will participate in a donation drive hosted by AAPI’s New Jersey Chapter.

The program, supported by AAPI’s national and local chapters, has become a meaningful way to give back during the holiday season.

“We are proud to see the purpose of the program being fulfilled through the efforts of AAPI and its state chapters,” said Dr. Meher Medavaram, AAPI Vice President.

Dr. Raghu Lolabhattu, Chair of the program, noted its growing success over the years: “Thousands of people have benefited from this initiative, and we are committed to continuing this tradition.”

Volunteers, including physicians and community members, have come together to make a difference through donations and hands-on participation.

AAPI President Dr. Satheesh Kathula expressed gratitude for the widespread support from members and communities: “Knowing that these efforts help so many inspires us to keep going and do even more.”

The “Share-the-Warmth” program exemplifies AAPI’s broader mission of community service and advocacy.
