Manchester Township, NJ: Authorities have arrested five men in connection with the shocking murder of Kuldeep Kumar, whose decomposed body was found in a New Jersey wildlife area in December 2024.

The suspects include a man from New York and four individuals from Indiana, raising questions about the motive behind the crime.

Kuldeep Kumar, a native of India, had been missing since October 26, 2024. His body was discovered on December 14 in the Greenwood Wildlife Management Area, Manchester Township, with an autopsy revealing multiple gunshot wounds.

The investigation, spearheaded by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office in collaboration with New Jersey State Police and the FBI, culminated in the arrests of Sandeep Kumar, 34, of New York, and four others from Greenwood, Indiana—Sourav Kumar, 23, Gaurav Singh, 27, Nirmal Singh, 30, and Gurdeep Singh, 22.

Sandeep Kumar was charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder and is currently held at Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.

The other suspects were apprehended in Indiana and are awaiting extradition to New Jersey.

Authorities have not yet revealed the motive for the murder, though speculation hints at possible links to international criminal networks.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer stated, “This case highlights the extraordinary cooperation between local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in ensuring justice for the victim and his family.”

The arrests mark significant progress in the investigation, yet the lack of clarity regarding the motive leaves lingering concerns for the local and Indian communities.

Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to come forward, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in resolving such cases.
