Houston Consulate Mourns Loss of Indian Citizen in Dallas Robbery

Dallas, Texas – The Indian consulate in Houston today announced its heartfelt sorrow over the loss of Gopi Krishna Dasari, a victim of a fatal robbery shooting in Pleasant Grove, Dallas.

 

In an official communication via social media platform X, the consulate extended its deepest sympathies to Dasari's family, underscoring its ongoing efforts to support them during this harrowing time.

"We are deeply moved by the tragic event that led to the untimely demise of Mr. Gopi Krishna Dasari following a robbery in Pleasant Grove, Dallas. Our thoughts and sincerest condolences are with his loved ones," 

 

Further details shared by the consulate revealed that they are closely coordinating with Dasari's family members in the area and facilitating support through local Indian Associations.

 

Dasari, originally from Yazali in the Karlapalem Mandal of Bapatla district, Andhra Pradesh, was confronted by an armed assailant while working at a Dallas store. The attacker shot him at close range, resulting in critical injuries. Despite immediate medical intervention, Dasari succumbed to his injuries on Sunday.

 

A resident of the United States for nearly 8 months.

 

Responding to the tragedy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed profound grief and committed to assist in repatriating Dasari's remains.

 

"It is with a heavy heart that we learned about the passing of Dasari Gopikrishna, a young man from Bapatla, due to a grave incident in Texas," Chief Minister Naidu stated on social media platform X. "The government of Andhra Pradesh is dedicated to providing all necessary aid to bring him home and support his family through this trying period."

 

Senior BJP leader Muralidhar Rao also voiced his condolences, stating,

 

"The news of Dasari Gopikrishna's tragic departure has deeply saddened us. I extend my heartfelt sympathies to his family and affirm that the Andhra Pradesh government will ensure all necessary arrangements for his return. We stand solidly with his family in this time of grief and hope they find the fortitude to overcome this profound loss."
