Adapted from the ancient Sanskrit plays Charudatt by Bhasa (500 BC) and Mṛcchakaṭika by Śūdraka (500 AD), this reimagined production tells the story of Vasantsena, a royal courtesan in the grand city of Ujjaini, who dares to fall in love with a humble Brahmin, Charudatt.
