Chicago: A devastating road accident in Chicago claimed the life of 28-year-old Mohammad Wajid, a Hyderabad native who had been pursuing his MS in the United States since 2021.

Wajid, a resident of Khairatabad, was on his way to buy medicine for his ailing younger brother when his car was struck by a truck, killing him on the spot.

Wajid was the son of Mohammad Aziz, a Water Board employee in Hyderabad. His tragic death comes just months before his planned wedding in December.

He had recently sent a visa for his parents to visit him in the U.S., and they were preparing to leave within days when they received the heartbreaking news.

A former Khairatabad Youth Congress leader and an active member of the NRI Congress Committee in the U.S., Wajid was well-regarded in his community.

His last rites will be performed in America. Local political leaders, including MP Anil Kumar Yadav, visited his grieving family to offer condolences.
