Santa Clara, CA – Satish Chandra Vale, a dedicated community activist and advisor on the Board of the Santa Clara Police Department, has officially announced his candidacy for the Santa Clara City Council representing District 1. Satish Chandra Vale, who has been a resident of Santa Clara for 14 years and has worked in the IT industry for 25 years, expressed his excitement about running for City Council. "Since I was a kid, I’ve always wanted to help people who need it, like NGOs and those who are less fortunate," he shared on his campaign website.

 

 

Chandra's community involvement is extensive. He serves on the Chief Advisory Committee Board at the Santa Clara Police Department, where he collaborates on public safety initiatives and fosters community unity. Additionally, he actively contributes to non-profit organizations such as DCSCO (Don Callejon) Santa Clara School, the Sankara Eye Foundation, and KA-BOOM, focusing on education, healthcare, and recreational opportunities for youth.

 

 

In his role on the Santa Clara City (District #1) Charter Review Committee, Chandra advocated for residents' right to elect the Police Chief, saving the city over half a million dollars in taxpayer funds by preventing a special ballot measure.

 

"The overwhelming support from our community, with over 72% in agreement, reaffirmed the importance of this decision for our city’s future," he stated.

 

Chandra's previous experience includes serving as President of the Toscana Rivermark community association. His candidacy has garnered significant endorsements from the Police Officers Association (SCPD), Santa Clara Mayor Lisa Gillmor, Councilmember Kathy Watanabe, Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen, and Mayors Carmen Montano of Milpitas and Lily Mei of Fremont.
