Dallas-Based Doctor Receives Top Indian NRI Award

Bhārat/India/Dallas – Dallas-based rheumatologist Dr. Sharad Lakhanpal has been awarded the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award (PBSA) for 2025.

The award, the highest honor given to non-resident Indians (NRIs), recognizes his groundbreaking contributions to medical science and his global impact in the field of rheumatology.

 

Dr. Lakhanpal, a clinical professor of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, has devoted decades to advancing rheumatology through research, clinical trials, and education. His leadership as a past president of the American College of Rheumatology and his efforts to foster global collaboration in medicine have left an indelible mark on the field.

 

The award ceremony, held during the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention, celebrates outstanding contributions by members of the Indian diaspora.

 

Dr. Lakhanpal was one of the few selected for this prestigious accolade, which acknowledges his commitment to improving healthcare standards worldwide.
