Global Tributes: Busts of Mahatma Gandhi Unveiled in Seattle and Tokyo

Seattle, USA & Tokyo, Japan - Mahatma Gandhi’s global influence was commemorated with the unveiling of his busts at two prominent international locations—Seattle Center, USA, and the Indian Embassy in Tokyo, Japan.

 

The ceremonies, held on Gandhi's birth anniversary, celebrated his enduring message of peace, non-violence, and social justice.

 

In Seattle, the bust was revealed in a public event that drew local dignitaries, Indian-American community leaders, and citizens, symbolizing Gandhi’s relevance in today’s world.  

 

Meanwhile, in Tokyo, India’s External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, led the unveiling at the Indian Embassy, invoking Gandhi's timeless teachings.

Jaishankar emphasized, “Gandhi's message of peace and non-violence is as relevant today as it was during his lifetime.”

These unveilings highlight the continued global resonance of Gandhi’s philosophy, inspiring generations to embrace peace, understanding, and mutual respect.

 

Both events were marked by tributes, speeches, and reflections on how Gandhi’s ideals can guide current and future challenges.
