Santa Clara University Honors Alumna Jayshree Ullal for Tech Leadership

Santa Clara, CA: Jayshree V. Ullal, CEO and chairperson of Arista Networks, will be honored with an honorary Doctor of Engineering degree by Santa Clara University at its undergraduate commencement ceremony on June 14, 2025.

An alumna of the university, Ullal will also deliver the keynote address to over 1,400 graduating students and their families.

Born in London and raised in New Delhi, India, Ullal moved to the United States for higher education, obtaining her bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from San Francisco State University and a master's degree from Santa Clara University.

She began her career at AMD and later played a pivotal role at Cisco Systems before becoming CEO of Arista Networks in 2008. 

Under Ullal's leadership, Arista Networks has transformed into a multi-billion-dollar enterprise, redefining data center networking with cutting-edge technology.

She successfully led the company through its IPO in 2014, positioning Arista as a dominant force in the industry.

Beyond her professional achievements, Ullal is a strong advocate for diversity in technology and actively supports women in leadership roles.

She serves on multiple advisory boards and is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of engineers and entrepreneurs.

Her philanthropic efforts include establishing a foundation with her husband to support cancer research, social services, and hunger relief in India. 

In 2013, Ullal received the Santa Clara University School of Engineering's highest honor, the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award, recognizing her outstanding contributions to the profession and community.
